Todd Gibby

Todd Gibby is the founder of Lock 8 Partners. He is a seasoned software executive, with a passion for great teams and operating excellence. Over his 20-year career as a software executive, Todd helped grow five SaaS businesses by putting people first, keeping things simple, and focusing on values, processes, and results.

Prior to founding Lock 8, Todd has held a wide range of leadership and operating roles. From 2017 until its acquisition by Sphera in 2019, Todd served as the Interim CEO and then Executive Chairman of SiteHawk, a SaaS environmental safety solution for managing chemical data. Previously, he was the CEO of BoardEffect, a leading governance platform supporting the work of boards of directors. Starting in 2014, Todd led BoardEffect’s rapid and profitable growth, which resulted in its acquisition by Diligent Corporation in late 2016. Prior to BoardEffect, Todd was the president of Hobsons' higher education business in the US and Europe. He joined Hobsons through the acquisition of Intelliworks, where he served as CEO from 2007 to 2011. Previously, Todd held numerous executive leadership positions at Blackboard from 1999 through 2006, including EVP of Operations, SVP of Sales, and General Manager of Learning Systems. Todd played an instrumental role in Blackboard's trajectory from early-stage start-up to the recognized global leader in e-Learning software and successful IPO in 2004. Prior to Blackboard, Todd held roles in strategic planning and financial analysis.

Todd serves on the board of directors of Dartmouth College's Rassias Center for World Languages and Cultures and was a member of the Washington DC Chapter of YPO from 2014 to 2019. Todd attended Dartmouth College and received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He loves traveling, cooking, and spending time outdoors with his wife, two children, and very spoiled dog.
